Summary
In response to Maria Luisa Torres' letter (Readers' Forum, Aug. 30), I can't speak for the reception Rep. Tom Tancredo received in St. George, but as for his visit to Salt Lake City, I felt his message was received very enthusiastically. An overwhelming majority of people gave him multiple standing ovations. Tancredo is sympathetic for those people who would like to come from Mexico, all 49 million or so. Are you sympathetic for the thousands of jobs lost at the 84 hospitals that had to shut down in California alone due to the burden placed on them of illegals demanding free service? Or the thousands of crimes perpetrated on peace-abiding citizens by illegals from Mexico?
