Decline in Homeless Likely Short-Lived

Summary


The small but steady decline in the number of Utahns who don't have a place to live reported Tuesday by two national homeless research groups will be short-lived and is probably already over.

Reports that homelessness declined by 10 percent nationally and by 3 percent in Utah is good news that is being overwhelmed by economic bad news, representatives of the National Alliance to End Homelessness and the Corporation for Supportive Housing said.
