SOUTH JORDAN -- Laying down a bunt is one of the basics of baseball, a fundamental play that can wind up being the difference in a tight game.

Copper Hills tried to execute the sacrifice bunt to advance base runners on three occasions in the first six innings of its Region 3 contest with Hunter. Each time the player failed to get the bunt down in the first two strikes and wound up forced to swing away. That all changed in the seventh.
