Dear Heloise: We have four cats, all of which must visit the veterinarian for routine exams as well as the occasional emergency.
I made quilts out of animal-print fleece and quilt batting to put into their carriers. Folded up, the quilt is a nice and comfy pad. Unfolded and wrapped around the kitty, it's a wonderful way to stay warm on cold days. Once we arrive at the vet's office, the quilt comes out and is spread across the examination table. The cats really seem to love that it's not a cold, hard surface, and it's comforting to them because it's something familiar in an otherwise totally unfamiliar environment.See the full content of this document
