Chemical-Maker Basf to Buy Huntsman's Tdi Business

BASF AG, the world's biggest chemicals maker, said Wednesday it has agreed to buy the global toluene diisocyanate, or TDI, business from Huntsman Corp., which is closing its U.S. plant.

BASF will get the customer list and sales contracts from Salt Lake-based Huntsman, the fourth-biggest U.S. chemical maker, though it won't take over plants or employees, the company, based in Ludwigshafen, German, said in a prepared statement.
