Summary


In 1898, my great-grandfather was an LDS missionary in Montana. And lucky for us, he was a devout journal keeper.

He writes about the cold, the people, the cold, the scenery. He has discussions with investigators about polygamy, the Mountain Meadows Massacre and -- when theyll let him fit it in -- Mormonism. And he often left a little novel with those he spoke with -- "Mr. Durant of Salt Lake City: That Mormon," by Ben E. Rich, former publisher of the "Rexburg Press" in Idaho and a legendary mission president.
