Summary
Regarding Joe Cannon as editor: I was surprised the Deseret Morning News would make such an apparently biased appointment. Other than his family connections, and the fact that he is a great reader with ink running in his veins, I see nothing to recommend him. I wonder why someone with journalistic experience, who has worked as a reporter, etc., and whose name is not so widely associated with the Republican Party and the LDS Church could not have been found. Doesn't this exaggerate the already stereotyped view of the Deseret Morning News and its readership?
