Summary
It's just peachy that President Bush visited a Protestant church in Beijing to make a "religious freedom" statement to China's communist government. But considered in the context of the Chinese society and not ours, his visit to a Christian sect was a profound show of ethnocentrism and ignorance. It would have made more sense, and perhaps proven more fruitful, if Bush had visited the Buddhist monks or the Tibetan people. Until Tibet is free and its citizens are no longer terrorized, other current religious struggles in China pale in comparison.
