Summary
It's time for a new immigration amnesty, with over an estimated 12 million undocumented workers living in the United States; we cannot simply round up these workers and send them back to their native countries.
The immigrant worker actually increases the U.S. gross domestic product by $37 billion each year. Many people think the immigrants take the jobs from the U.S. citizens; the White House Council of Economic Advisors released a report in 2007 that states that immigrants complement rather than substitute for American citizens or the native workforce by increasing productivity and income. Also, along with the amnesty, there will be fines for the applicants to pay. That money can help the Department of Homeland Security have more funds to have better equipment and more personnel to help protect our country from serious criminals and terrorists.See the full content of this document
