Summary
James R. Wade says that where he used to live, temperatures reported on television and radio were accurate. He must have lived in the flat lands where temperatures are uniform. Here in the valleys and the mountains, temperatures and wind speeds vary all over the place.
I've often heard wind-chill temperatures on our stations, but knowing a bit about the way the estimates were originally worked out, I take these numbers with a grain of salt. Tell Mr. Wade to put a thermometer and a wind-speed indicator in his own yard.See the full content of this document
