Miles to Have Surgery to Repair Thumb Ligament
LONDON -- Heading into his fourth NBA season, much was looking up for swingman C.J. Miles. His body was better than it's ever been, and his shot was falling, evidenced by a 5-for-7 effort from the field, including 2- for-2 from 3-point range, in the Jazz's preseason-opening win over Denver last Thursday.
TELEVISION COLLEGE FOOTBALL
LONDON -- If Derrick Rose had his druthers, two-time NBA All- Star power forward Carlos Boozer would be playing tonight in London for the Chicago Bulls -- not the Jazz, the team that's employed and handsomely paid him each of the past five years. Fremont's Fishburn Leads 5a Golf
LAYTON -- Patrick Fishburn, a junior at Fremont High and one of the state's top junior golfers, has shot plenty of 67s in his young life. But the 5-under 67 he posted Monday at the 5A state golf championships at Valley View golf course -- in cold, rain, wind and snow -- ranks right up there with his best rounds ever. It also gives him a three-stroke medalist lead heading into today's final 18 holes.

At Times, Utes Might Look Shaky at Running Back
Shaky Smithson took a lot of reps at running back during Utah's bye week. Although he'll continue to see action at wide receiver, the junior college transfer has been enlisted to help fill the vacancy created by the season-ending knee injury suffered by Matt Asiata. "That's really where his primary focus is right now," said head coach Kyle Whittingham, who noted that Smithson will join new starter Eddie Wide, freshman Sausan Shakerin and senior Ray Stowers in the mix at running back.
London Will Likely Cheer for Deng, a Hometown Hero

Besides getting occasional duty as a running back, he's been a regular on all of the Utes' special teams, chasing down runners on kickoffs, or blocking on the punt team.
Wayne Still the Team to Beat in 1a
